Continuing Professional Development
Continuing professional development plays an important part in maintaining a high standard of service that I provide to my clients, Each month I complete on average 10 hours, which includes a range of formal taught courses, reading, research and discussions with peers. Applying myself to this level each month, ensures that I am keeping up to date with the latest research and thus I am able to share and include relevant information to help clients with their particular issues. It keeps both my clinics at the forefront of providing a modern and effective service.
Specialist areas
Although I work with all the areas outlined on the first page, in Chandlers Ford I specialise in all aspects of anxiety, phobias, depression, trauma and PTSD, Weight loss and food addictions.
I see many clients who want help for anxiety at my practice in Chandlers Ford and at my Harley Street Anxiety Clinic. Anxiety is something that appears to be increasing in our culture and environment. This could be the result of the many pressures of life and expectations, life can be very competitive. With anxiety on the increase, in 2014 I opened The London Anxiety Clinic in Harley Street London and the Harley street anxiety clinic is full and very effective. With regard to Trauma, I have vast knowledge and client experience of working within this particular field, I provided Trauma consultancy work for a blue light emergency service. I work with the effects of combat, acute stress and ptsd, including violent crime, rape and childhood sexual abuse, I spent over 10 years working for a charity that only works for traumatised clients. Recently I was awarded '' The Mayor of Winchester community award', in recognition of my service to the community regarding my work with trauma and dedication within this local agency.
In addition to my anxiety clinic in Chandlers Ford and London, I recently opened ' Your ideal Weight Clinic'' I specialise in helping clients to achieve their desired weight and assist clients in reducing their compulsions to particular foods.
Referral sources
Both practices are very busy, and I receive referrals from, Doctors, psychologists, Occupational Health therapists, self referrals, schools, community mental health teams, youth charities, security professionals, private security firms and many different types of businesses. I am also invited to participate in work at both national and international levels. The larger majority of refferals are through word of mouth, from previous clients who advise their friends and families. Advertising only accounts for 2% to 3% of my total work.
Costs
All costs for appointments are reviewed on an individual basis with my clients. (Charges for cancellations less then 24 hours are subject to the full fee of the appointment cost)
Locations
I have recently moved my practice in Hampshire, from Eastleigh to the heart of Chandlers Ford, working from a beautiful victorian cottage. The ambience and environment adds another positive perspective to the therapy process. In London you can visit my Harley Street Anxiety Clinic, I am at No 1 Harley Street working in a beautiful Georgian building.
